Welcome to Grimston's Community Website               www.grimston.org

including Pott Row (the Western half of Grimston)

but there's also stuff about Congham and Roydon, which are separate rather smaller parishes but share the geographical community

There's lots of space for you to add information, photos, and even sounds

to help everyone to know about the village and what's going on.

You can put things into the website yourself, such as photos of the village, dates in the calendar, job offers, and so on.

If you want a page for your organisation, this can be added in.

You can also log on as a e-member of the village community, with your own password (private to you).  Then we can email you with special news as it breaks.

The section formerly labelled 'Our files', now called 'Village Link news and archives' includes copies of Village Link and Grimston Parish Council Minutes and agendas month by month, and a History of Grimston Church.

Cakes will be needed for Jean Panks’ cake stall at Congham Fete. Please will you bake a cake and bring it along to the fete? If you cannot bring it yourself contact Hilary Scase (tel 01485 600650) and she will pick it up and take it. Paul and Irene Andrews are appealing for spare garden plants. They would welcome your petunias, parsley or pumpkins. In fact any plant, indoor or outdoor, flowers or vegetables. Give them a ring on 01485 600462 or 601081. They will make arrangements to collect or for you to drop them off at 117 Lynn Road. If you have any surplus products-flowers, fruit or veg-, could you bring them day? Any thing that will help us to make this popular stall a success will be gratefully received.

Upcoming Event

Hudson Fen Leisure Limited AGM

HFLL is the local charity company who managed to get a new play area built on Hudson's Fen for the village.  As a Company limited by guarantee it has four directors and a company secretary, but the day to day running is by a committee of 'members', representing the various user groups of the village and some local people elected at the AGM.

Since the Parish Council has apparently changed its intention of paying the cost of insuring this public facility, we will have to decide what to do about this, as it would be a considerable challenge to raise this £1600 or so as well as the other running costs (which Congham and Roydon PC help with).

Come and show your support!  Parish Councils spend the people's money, so in the end it's up to the people to decide what their money should be spent on!   Grimston's precept (money collected by the Borough Council from local people's council tax for parish purposes) was £20,000 for the current year.
